Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the kind of mobile RPG I didn't think phones got right anymore. You build a party of four, each with their own skill tree, and battles are turn-based with enough positioning depth that lazy tapping gets you wiped by the second dungeon.

The writing is the real hook. Companions bicker, remember things you said, and occasionally refuse orders if you've been treating them badly. It gives the whole thing weight that most gacha-style RPGs never bother with.

Sessions can be short thanks to auto-resume, but the story rewards long stretches. I lost a full evening to a single boss puzzle and didn't regret it once.
